Dr. Nischal Yathagiri is a medical professional with a strong academic background and keen interest in public health and community-oriented healthcare. He completed his M.B.B.S from Karnataka Medical College & Research Institute (KMCRI), Hubballi, under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, and his M.D. in Community Medicine at University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) & Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Delhi, under the University of Delhi.
Dr. Yathagiri has diverse clinical and field experience, including his work as a Medical Officer during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and training across major clinical specialties during his rotating internship. His postgraduate training has provided diverse exposure to urban and rural health services, national health programmes, disease surveillance, vaccine delivery systems, and community-based interventions. He has actively participated in health camps, IEC activities, and family adoption program.
His research interests include injury epidemiology, zoonotic diseases, and healthcare-seeking behavior. His MD thesis focuses on the burden of dog bites and associated health-seeking behavior in Delhi. He has presented his research at national conferences and published in a reputed public health journal.
Dr. Nischal Yathagiri is an active member of many professional bodies and served as Vice President of the Resident Doctors’ Association, UCMS & GTBH.
