On the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day on 10th September 2025, the Department of Psychiatry, HIMSR, organized a series of awareness activities for patients, students, and faculty. This year’s international theme, “Changing the Narrative on Suicide,” was the focus of the day.
Awareness initiatives were conducted in the Psychiatry OPD for patients and their families, as well as in the HIMSR foyer for the students and faculty members. The program included a Poster Making Competition as well as a Nukkad Natak titled “Panchi Uda,” highlighting the importance of open conversations and collective efforts in suicide prevention.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where the top three winners of the poster competition were awarded prizes and certificates by the Honourable Dean and Medical Superintendent, HIMSR and HAHC Hospital. The first prize was awarded to Anza Khan, BPT second year student, second prize was won by Mehak, B.Sc. Hons Nursing second year student, and the third prize was awarded to Liaba Noor, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing first year student.  The program concluded with refreshments for all.
