  1. Prof. Ashok Shah, on 15th  February 2020, represented India  at the Asia Pacific Association of Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology (APAAACI) Symposium and delivered a lecture on “One  Airway, One  Disease, Allergic  Rhinitis  &  Bronchial  Asthma : the link” held during “Indian Academy of Allergy Congress 2020” organised by the Department of  Paediatrics Medicine,  Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh, at Hotel Taj, Chandigarh on 14th – 15th February 2020
  2. Ashok Shah, on 7th March 2020,  chaired a symposium on “ILD” at the Conference of the AIIMS “PULMOCRIT 2020” organised by the Department of Pulmonary Medicine ,Critical Care & Sleep Medicine , AIIMS ,New Delhi from 7th to 8th  March  2020.

  1. Prof Ashok Shah presented a webinar on “Aspergillusassociated hypersensitivity respiratory disorders” on May 27,2020, jointly organised by Thermo Fisher Scientific and SRL Diagnostics. The webinar was attended by 155 participants

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES 2019

  1. Ashok Shah delivered talk on “Overview of outdoor and indoor pollution and its impact on respiratory allergic disorders” at the Global Allergy Meet at Lisbon, Portugal on February 5-6, 2019.
  2. “Upper Respiratory Tract Allergic Inflammatory Disorders” talk delivered by Prof. Ashok Shah at the “Allergy Workshop” conducted at the Aster CMI Hospital Bangalore, during the 52nd Annual Convention of the College held at the Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore from FEB 14th to 17th
  3. The Department of Respiratory Medicine conducted a series of clinical classes for the DNB (Pulmonary Medicine) batch appearing for the final examination in April 2019 from all hospitals in Delhi NCR.
  4. Prof. Ashok Shah chaired a symposium on “Interstitial Lung Disease” at the AIIMS PULMOCRIT 2019 organized by Department of Pulmonary Medicine & Sleep Disorders, AIIMS, New Delhi, March 2-3, 2019.  
  5. The Department of Respiratory Medicine conducted a series of clinical classes till the first week of April 2019 for the DNB (Pulmonary Medicine) batch appearing for the final examination in April 2019 from all hospitals in Delhi NCR.
  6. The Department of Respiratory Medicine, Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research has started conducting the 6 Minute Walk Test for functional assessment for patients with Interstial Lung Disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Bronchiectasis etc.
  7. The Department of Respiratory Medicine, Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi commemorated the “WORLD ALLERGY WEEK 2019” on 9th April 2019 with a talk on “Seminal Plasma Allergy”. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Ashok Shah, Head, Department of Respiratory Medicine, Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research.
  8. The Department of Respiratory Medicine in conjunction with the Department of Surgery participated in a CME program on “Pneumothorax: current management” organized by the Department of Medicine on 29th April 2019.
  9. The Department of Respiratory Medicine made a presentation and led the discussion on “Causes, Types and Diagnosis of Pneumothorax. The presentation was made by Dr. Shamim Ullah Khan Senior Resident.
  10. Ashok Shah delivered a lecture on “Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis: Diagnosis and Mangement” at the 44th Workshop on Respiratory Allergy: Diagnosis & Mangement organized by the Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute, University of Delhi at the Paintal Memorial Golden Jubliee Auditorium, VP Chest Institute, May 6-10, 2019.
  11. The Department of Respiratory Medicine, Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, commemorated the World Asthma Day with patient awareness programmed held at the HAH Centenary Hospital on May 9, 2019.
  12. Ashok Shah attended a Round Table discussion on newer Long Acting Beta Agonist (LABA) and Long Acting Muscaranic Antagonist (LAMA) in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) at the La Meridian Hotel, New Delhi on June 9, 2019.
  13. Ashok Shah delivered a lecture on “Chronic Pulmonary Aspergillosis: Current Concepts” at the “5th National Annual Update on Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine” organized by the Department of Chest Medicine, SKIMS Medical College, Srinagar, J&K on 22nd June, 2019.
  14. Ashok Shah conducted the “Workshop on Allergy Testing and Immunotherapy” (UP Medical Council 4 credit hours) as Workshop Director during the “Respiratory Conclave Conference-2019” organized by the “Breathe Easy Chest Foundation” held at Varanasi on 30th June, 2019.

  16. Ashok Shah was invited to conduct the DTCD clinical and practical examination of the Era University held at Era’s Lucknow Medical College and Hospitals on 17/07/2019.
  17. Ashok Shah was invited to attend a Round Table discussion on “Severe Asthma and Difficult to treat Asthma” during SHWASCON 2019 organised in association with Cleveland Clinic USA by Glenmark at the Shangri-La Hotel, New Delhi on August 8, 2019.

  23. The Department of Respiratory Medicine made a presentation at the Clinical Society Meeting, HIMSR on 24th September, 2019. The presentation, titled “Two patients with unusual chest radiological patterns”, was supported by Departments Radiology and Pathology , HIMSR.
  24. Shamim.U.Khan, Senior Resident, Department of Respiratory Medicine, HIMSR, enrolled in the online 8 weeks certification course entitled “Manage TB”. The course was run by the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning- All India Council for Technical Education (NEPTEL- AICTE) of the Ministry of HRD ,Govt. of India. This was as part of Faculty Development Programme. Dr. Khan successfully completed the course and was awarded the Certificate with a score of 83 % Elite Silver.
  25. Ashok Shah participated in a panel discussion on “Diagnosis, Investigation and Medical Management of Acute Fungal Rhinosinusitis” at a CME on “Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery” organised by Department of ENT and Head & Neck Surgery (HIMSR), at the Hamdard Archives Auditorium, Jamia Hamdard , New Delhi on 02 November 2019
  26. Ashok Shah participated as Faculty Member at the Pre-Conference Workshop on “Techniques of Scientific Writing” on 5th November 2019 during the 6th PULMOCON 2019 organised by the Bangladesh Lung Foundation at Dhaka, Bangladesh from 5th to 7th November 2019.

Ashok Shah participated as Faculty Member and delivered two talks on “Literature Search in the Digital Era” and “The Art of Writing a Scientific Paper” at the Workshop on “Research in Clinical Practice” on 21th November 2019 during the 21st NAPCON 2019 organised by the Indian Chest Society and National College of Chest Physician at Kochi, from 21st to 24th November 2019
