GLAUCOMA WEEK
On the occasion of World Glaucoma Week Eye department conduct various activities.
-Glaucoma screening camps and awareness program in community. We screened the people and suspected cases were called to HIMSR OPD for Glaucoma work up & treatment.
Camps were conducted on two camps–
8th March 2025 Tughalkabad 36 No.
12th March 2025 Pul Prahlad pur.
-Glaucoma awareness program for patients in OPD where Glaucoma specialist Dr Taskin Khan along with Residents gave Talk regarding that.
-Patients were screened free of cost the whole week (9-15 March 2025.
On 13th March 2025 conduct the awareness classes for MBBS students (Batch 2021) at HIMSR.
On 14th March 2025 conduct the awareness classes for MBBS students (Batch 2022) at HIMSR.
On 15th March 2025 Took out a rally (Let’s Walk & Unite for Glaucoma –free World at HIMSR to Old Building).
Together we can fight Glaucoma related blindness by being aware & regular checkup.
15th March 2025 we conduct hands on workshop on attend glaucoma valve and MIGS (KDB). All the faculty and senior residents participated and performed MIGS and Ahmad Glaucoma Valve on silicon and Goats Eye.

In The history of HIMSR, The department of Ophthalmology
successfully performed its first Cornea Retrieval in Medicine ICU with assistance from Shroff Eye Bank. (Date 30 August),2 Corneas from 65 Yeas/F,from HIMSR MICU

Department of Ophthalmology Organised a Four day Program on the occasion of Angdaan Jan Jagrukta Abhiyaan, as well as the 14th Indian Organ Donation Day, 31-July to 3-August 2024.
The Event comprised of awareness program for the nurses, students and residents, poster and slogan completion, skit focussing on the importance of organ donation was performed. Prof. Vishnu Gupta and Dr. Anwara gave an enlightening and motivating talk on organ donation and eye donation which was attended by all HIMSR faculty, residents and students.

FREE EYE CAMP 2024:
A free Eye Camp was organised by Department of Ophthalmology on 29-April-2024 at Tughalkabad.

CAMP REPORT 2021:
The Department of Ophthalmology had conducted Eye Camps in the surrounding areas of Govindpuri and Sangam Vihar. Two camps were held, one in a Mosque on 26th October 2021 and other in a Gurudwara on 29th November 2021. The camps were well received by around 300 patients coming from all walks of life. It was attended by a Doctor and an Optometrist. We examined various types of patients coming in with Refractive error, Cataracts and Eye Allergies. We distributed eye drops to the patients which were donated to us by the pharmaceutical companies. Patients requiring further workup and surgery were referred to our hospital. People from the nearby areas appreciated our efforts and our work was well acknowledged by the civil society as well.
