A one-day workshop on “Advance Care Planning” was conducted by Hospital Bioethics Committee of HIMSR and HAHC Hospital. It was attended by 20 people , which included participants from diverse disciplines such as those working in ICU settings, Paediatricians, ANMs, Medical Officers and Community Medicine.
An interactive session on ethics was taken by Dr Aqsa Shaikh where the major principles of ethics such as autonomy, beneficence, justice and non-maleficence was discussed. Special emphasis on Autonomy was given as one of the crucial components of Advance Care Planning. After the sensitisation, the detailed sessions on Advance Care Planning, Advance Medical Directive, Living Will were taken by Dr Pratibha Panjiar from the department of Anaesthesiology. It was followed by question-and-Answer Sessions. The participants took part actively. The Concluding remarks were given by Dr Manpreet Singh
