Workshop on Ethics Report
A workshop on Medical Ethics & Good clinical / Laboratory Practices for Post Graduate Students was organized by MEU, HIMSR on 17th Aug 2024. It was attended by 39 Post Graduate Residents (Final year MD/MS).
The workshop started with introduction by Dr Sabina Khan, MEU coordinator who emphasized the importance of Ethics in medicine and that it is a mandatory requirement for PG’s for eligibility to appear in their final exams. This was followed by Pretest on Ethics conducted by Dr Sana Alam.
1st session was an interactive discussion on principles of Bioethics by Dr Aqsa Shaikh.
2nd session, conducted by Dr Yasir Alvi, was on Overview of Good Clinical Practice and Good Laboratory Practice.
A short tea break was followed by 3rd session on Research Ethics, which was facilitated by Dr Sabina Khan.
The final session was on the topic Informed Consent and Patient Safety delivered by Dr Musharraf Husain.
Posttest was then taken, which served as a feedback on the workshop. Significant improvement was seen in the scores, which served as an evidence that learning took place and the sessions were fruitful for the participants.
Lastly, valedictory function was organized which was presided by our Dean, Prof. Sunil Kohli. Sir also distributed certificates to all participants and also the facilitators of the workshop.
Lastly, the workshop ended with a group photograph of all participants and facilitators.
The workshop was a huge success which was reflected by the students’ feedback.
