Report On Voluntary Blood Donation Camp Organized On The Occasion Of World Blood Donor Day 2026

REPORT ON VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION CAMP ORGANIZED ON THE
OCCASION OF WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY 2026

On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, which is celebrated on the 14th June, a voluntary blood donation camp was organized by the Department of Pathology HIMSR at HAHC Blood Centre on 15th June 2026. The camp remained operational from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The camp was organized with the primary objective of fostering awareness about voluntary blood donation and encouraging community participation, in line with this year’s theme – “One Drop of Humanity. Give Blood. Save Lives.”

The event was formally inaugurated by Dean HIMSR Dr. Musharraf Husain in the presence of Medical Superintendent, Dr. Sandeep Kumar and HOD Pathology, Dr. Sabina Khan.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from young individuals, medical students, staff members and local community residents, reflecting their commitment towards this noble cause and their sense of social responsibility. Following donor screening and eligibility assessment, 26 blood donations were successfully collected. Nine prospective donors were deferred based on standard donor selection criteria. These deferred individuals were appropriately counselled and were encouraged for participation in future blood donation drives.

All donor screening procedures, blood collection processes, and post-donation care were carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures and established safety guidelines to ensure donor well-being and quality of collected blood units.

As a token of gratitude and recognition, all donors were felicitated by our dignitaries with certificates of appreciation, customized mugs and refreshment kits, acknowledging their invaluable contribution towards serving the society. A specially designed photo booth was also arranged to capture the joyful smiles of our donors.

The successful organization of the blood donation camp would not have been possible without the invaluable guidance of HOD Pathology and dedicated efforts of the technical incharge and blood centre staff. Their commitment and teamwork were instrumental in making the camp a success.
